About the Patient Participation Group
The Patient Participation Group (PPG) is recognised by the medical and administrative staff as representing all patients registered with the Practice.
The PPGs have been representing patients in the majority of Practices nationwide for some years. There is a National Association of Patient Participation (NAPP), to which the Practice group is now an affiliated member.
The Practice adopts the objectives set by NAPP which are:
- To provide feedback on appointment systems, consultation times and repeat prescriptions
- To develop Practice leaflets and a Practice website
- To complete surveys to assess patient satisfaction, needs and expectations
- To improve patient facilities – for example the waiting area
- Health based social activities
- To provide support with our flu clinics
Your PPGs current list of objectives
The PPG is to review it’s objectives in the near future.
Due to the Covid Pandemic our objectives need to be updated to meet the needs of our practice and our members.
When do we meet?
The PPG meets approximately every 3 months.
Meetings are held at the Surgery and last approximately one hour.
Confidentiality
The Practice has a strict confidentiality policy for staff and all third parties. The protection of patient information is our priority.
PPG members do not have access to patient information. If a patient gives information to a PPG member voluntarily, they are bound by the restrictions within the confidentiality agreement which all members must sign.
Should you wish to speak to a PPG member please contact the Practice management (details further down this page) who will arrange a meeting.
For your information
Please make use of our blood pressure machine which is in the waiting area. If you need assistance to use the machine, a receptionist will be happy to help. Just print off the readings and take them to the reception staff to be recorded.
We also have weighing scales which measure height and body mass index (BMI). These are located in the waiting area. Just print off the readings and take them to the reception staff to be recorded.
The Practice has books for sale for a donation of 50 pence. Patients donate their good quality books and all money raised goes to the Patient Benefit Fund.
